The British sport car automaker Lotus has been hard at work to prove their position in the game by reigniting and rejuvenating their offerings on the market, and they’ve done so by first unveiling the Loutus Emira, a V6-powered vehicle offered with either your choice of a hand-shifted transmission or an automatic transmission for the purists as per the brand’s usual status quo. In keeping with the ever-evolving universe of the automotive industry, many auto makers have been sanctioned by EU regulations to turn towards greener powering alternatives. Lotus announced their involvement in the cause by introducing what was set to be not only an all-electric hypercar but their fastest ever production vehicle ever made, the 2000-hp Lotus Evija.

Shortly after releasing their ludicrously bonkers EV hypercar, Lotus then went on to introduce another all-electric as the Lotus Eletre SUV, which has proven to be a very successful body shape to have in your vehicle lineup, as we’ve seen from the huge successes at Lamborghini with their Urus or Aston Martin with their DBX/DBX707. Now Lotus has unveiled what they deem to be a “super GT” in the new Emeya, an all-electric sedan that will be setup to be the flagship model in the Lotus luxury lifestyle segment.

The appearance of the Emeya is very similar to that of the Eletre; the front features similar narrow angular LED headlights, although this time stacked on either side; the bonnet has sharp creases for aero-related purposes; and the front gives a very confident and muscular look that is further exaggerated by the huge gloss-trimmed grille design.

The side profile displays smooth surfaces, as seen with the flush door handles on the 4-doors, and an exaggerated GT-like silhouette. Featuring a very sporty and agile look that is accompanied by the big 22-inch rims as well as the erectable spoiler, just like you’d find on a Cayenne Turbo GT Coupe,

Head to the back, and just like the bigger Eletre, you find a dominant single bar stretching to either side of the Emeya, almost like you’d find on a Bugatti Chiron or Audi RS7. Another notable mention are the air vents that are found on either side of the light bar, which furthermore add a menacing appearance to the Emeya.

Inside the cabin is similar to that of the bigger Eletre, which means you are submerged in a variety of plush, high-end quality materials, and in addition, you have the choice of picking a green-positive interior material to flood your cabin. The center console is dominated by a massive touch-screen display, which, oddly, is the norm nowadays in any car. The driver’s display is, however, odd, as it is just a little rectangular screen accompanied by an Augmented Reality heads-up display that can be utilized to project such things as directions from your maps.

The Emeya will be powered by the setup found in the Eletre R SUV, which is a dual-motor setup that is good for 675 kw and 985 nm, which is enough to do 0-60 in just 2.95 seconds. All that power is made possible because the Emeya will be equipped with a huge 102 kwh battery. Lotus hasn’t given an official range figure just yet, but it has said that it’s “expected to be broadly similar to the Eletre”. The Emeya will be capable of 350 kwh DC fast-charging, giving you the ability to add 93 miles of range in 5 minutes, while charging from 10-80% will take only 15 minutes.

The Emeya is officially set to begin production at Lotus’s plant in Wuhan, China, next year, and all its trim levels and prices are said to be exactly like the Eletre.
